Governance
As recounted in the history, the group originated among parents in Victoria. In August 1996 it became incorporated in Victoria as the Cri du Chat Support Group of Australia Inc. In 2021 the group was restructured as Cri du Chat Support Group Limited, a not-for-profit public company limited by guarantee, established to operate as a charity. A new constitution was adopted at that time.
The activities of the company are managed and directed by the board of directors elected at the Annual General Meeting. In addition to the constitution, directors are guided by an Information and Induction Pack, which has been developed to provide information on what a person needs to know if interested in becoming a Board Director and/or is elected to the Board. That document is also designed to give members, their friends and associates an idea of the roles they can take to assist the group without being a director on the board.
